Week 4 Term 3 2024 Newsletter

    Heavenly Father,

You chose the Virgin Mary to be the mother of your Son, and through her, you have given us the gift of salvation. As we celebrate the Assumption, may we follow her example of faith, humility, and obedience.

Grant us the grace to seek your will in all things and to look forward to the day when we too will share in the glory of the resurrection.

    .

    Dear Parents and Carers,

On Thursday we will commemorate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary by attending mass together. Mary, through her unwavering faith and obedience to God’s will, became the mother of Jesus. So close to Jesus was she on earth, that she was granted the privilege of being with him body and soul in heaven. The humility that Mary showed in her commitment to Jesus and God’s will is something we can strive for and nurture in ourselves and our children. We aim to teach and model to our students that humility means respecting others and understanding that everyone in our community has something valuable to offer. Our true character as a person is how we treat and value those around us.

The Assumption of Mary Thursday 15th August

The Assumption of Mary commemorates of the death of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The feast is known as the Assumption because Mary’s body did not decay, but she was raised up, body and soul, into heaven. The whole class and ELC will be attending Mass to commemorate Mary’s death, all are welcome to join us at 9:15am.

Some classes have been learning about Mary in Religion lessons at school: The Year 3 students have learnt to pray the Hail Mary to Mary to ask her to help them in times of need, to pray for others and members of our community. 1 Teal have learnt that Mary is known as the mother of all and the Queen of Heaven and have made Marian Crowds in class.
